Hedgehog's Dilemma
A psychological theory. The hedgehog's dilemma states that the closer two beings come to each other, the more likely they are to hurt one another; however if they remain apart, they will each feel the pain of loneliness. This comes from the idea that hedgehogs have spines on their backs. If they come close to one another, the spines of each will hurt the other. This is analogous to a relationship between two human beings. E.g. if two people come to care about and trust each other, something bad that happens to one of them will hurt the other as well, and dishonesty between the two could cause even greater problems.
Right... *looks to the sky* Dear God, ermm... please give moi the strength and wisdom to make the right choice. Show me a sign. Or I will implode as my wants and my needs or my split inner self pulls away from one another creating a rift so self-destructive and powerful, like the splitting of atoms in two... Argh!
...Quoth Zaid, nevermore.
